My
name is Tony Sellick and I have 38 years of experience
in the field of Fork Lift Trucks, firstly at Yale Materials
Handling and more lately in my own business, AES Training
Services of Newport, Shropshire which is now owned and
managed by Dot Bailey. I still train fork lift operators
although I now work for Dot. If you require information
on fork lift operator training please click
the link for AES Training above.
So what's this site about and why free? Well to be frank, fork lifts have given me a decent living over nearly 40 years but in that time I have come across all sorts of accidents and other incidents involving fork lift trucks which could have been avoided. Maybe this site can help to avoid just one serious accident? If so it's existence will be justified.
Whilst I have tended to concentrate on fork lift safety to some extent, there are sections of this site devoted to design concepts such as fork lift stability and various systems used on fork lifts such as hydraulics, electronics, stability and engines etc.
If you are stuck for technical or safety information please feel free to browse around the site. I would suggest that you use it as a guide especially when it comes to legislative subjects which obviously change from time to time. Also have a look at the discussion board and post your question there. There is also a mini-poll you can take part in with one click. Results of polls are posted here on the site.
Please note that I cannot be held responsible for any accident, prosecution or any other penalty that may be imposed on anyone due to following advice/guidance given on this web site. If in doubt, consult the HSE or the Truck manufacturer. |
